Fishing Report June 1, 2012

Blackfin tuna, kingfish, a few sailfish and bonitos have been available from 100 feet of water out to 300 feet of water. The water has beeen pretty green from all the rain. Most of these fish are not interested in anything other than a live large threadfin herring, goggle eye jack, pilchard or a quickly retrieved butter fly jig. The Kayak guys have been killing it Vert Jigging for Blackfin.

There has been a good amount of scattered weeds and some quality dolphin fishing. Best dolphin fishing has been under frigate birds that are working the surface. Wreck fishing is producing a few groupers, amberjacks, mutton and vermilion snappers.

Biscayne Bay Inshore

In the Bay it’s all about the seatrout. Hearing Reports of 60 trout a trip and also a lot of Permit and scattered bonefish.

Wednesday Morning

Flat and looks to stay that way for the rest of the week. 🙁

Tuesday Morning

Flat with a little trace of south leftovers. Too bad we got skunked from TS Beryl in South Florida. That’s okay, we got to see him before he made a name for himself and got all famous.

Don’t want to be accused of over hyping so you be the judge. We think there COULD BE a large NE Groundswell that could set up first of next week. We will continue to monitor and report back to you with a new update when more info becomes available.

Some fun waves up in Martin County this morning from Beryl. Too bad it never did fill in down here.

Saturday Morning

Glassy flat this morning in Pompano.

The system that gave us that sick few hours of surf Thursday afternoon is now TS Beryl. Looks like Beryl will offer up some more goods down here tomorrow. What time and how far south is the question.
NWS is calling for SW winds with a North swell for tomorrow.

Jacksonville is already seeing small surf starting to fill in.
