Friday

Another hot and flat day in Paradise. Go SUP, skate, fish or dive. It looks like it’ll be flat for awhile.

Tuesday

Fun session up in central Florida today. Waves never got too big but perfect for the longboard. The Wavecaster is calling for small scale, longboard waves for the rest of the week up there.

FISHING REPORT JULY 24, 2012

Dade Broward Palm Beach

The snook have been the story around town at all of the oceanside inlets and along the beaches where they can be caught on live pilchards, shrimp, threadfin herring, pinfish and mullet as well as artificial lures. Soft plastics hooked to a ¼ ounce red jig is another snook catcher. Also dont forget the chaos of mini lobster season starts tonight at mid night. be safe people!

Offshore fishing has been a bit slow with plenty of false albacore, a few blackfin tuna, kingfish and sailfish being caught just outside the outer reef line. Using live baits will help you get the most strikes. Wahoo are being caught on strips of bonito trolled deep with a planer. Lots of undersized dolphins are available offshore in depths from 600 feet out to over 1000 feet of water. Trolling feathers as you work your way out is your best bet at locating some fish. Swordfishermen are catching fish during the day in 2,000 feet of water and at night in 1,200 feet of water.

Biscayne Bay Inshore

Tons of seatrout, snapper, small jacks, ladyfish and barracudas can be found by drifting the shallow grass flats on the east side of North Biscayne Bay. Fishing live pilchards under a Cajun Thunder float has been the steady bite.

Monday

Knee to thigh high, somewhat clean wind-swell. If the swell holds there could be some nuggets this afternoon as the tide drops out.

It got fun yesterday afternoon. Here are some photos.

Clean waist high swell.

fun clean waist high with chest high sets. East southeast swell filling In. Upcoming low tide is starting to put a hurting on it.

Sunday Morning

Another day of knee to thigh high  windchop. I wouldn’t call it shortboardable but there are some waves for the LB and fun-shapes. Maybe it’ll get better as the tide drops this afternoon. The forecast has the winds blowing thru tomorrow.

Afternoon Gallery Update: Winds went offshore with the passing storms this afternoon. It got fun!

Saturday

Knee to thigh high east windchop. There’s a couple fun ones for the Longboard.

The forecast is calling for the winds to pick up tonight and tomorrow. It might actually get shortboardable.

Friday

Little ankle slappers in Broward county today. The wind is forecasted to pick up over the weekend and hopefully give us something rideable by Sunday/Monday.
