Chasing the swell with no surfboards…

As we arrive at our destination the anticipation builds as we all know the forecast is holding strong, especially when its starting to build back home in South Florida on Monday morning.  We get there and the airline says they couldn’t send the boards.  3 board bags sit in West Palm Beach and are not coming for 24 hours.  Its not a good feeling when your chasing a two day swell.  On our way out we flew over Reef Road and saw the conditions looking better and better.  Matt borrowed a board where we finally arrived while the rest waited back near the airport for the bags  until the morning.  He pulled into a little one on an NSP broken beater just as the sun set to shake off the bad vibes.  Just after making mac and cheese in a microwave with a coffee maker pitcher….. Mike joined us and had his two boards.  Our crew now had boards for the morning when the swell is suppose to pulse.  I still had no fins, since they were in the boardbag stuck in West Palm Beach.  The place we are staying hooked me up with some snorkel fins, which should make the morning swim interesting in 6-8ft barrels.
