Surfing in Paradise, Mentawais Part 3, Lances Rights

My original vision of the mentawai islands came true today in many different waves.  The morning started with a long lens shoot session on an Australian sailboat.  Met some great people and learned about their trip.  Today we traveled (overnight) to Lances right.  With only one other boat it was pretty empty.  With the small conditions, head high in the morning and waist in the afternoon, I was able to do some more exploring under the water and on land.  After a quick surf on super fun Lances Rights I  found myself  venturing down the beach playing ball with a little two year old full of joy beneath towering coconut palms outlined by a crystal blue sky.

Beneath the surface I swam on the breaks reef as well as the surrounding areas.  Mingled with some clown fish and numerous others found at your local exotic pet store.

From there I shot surf from the water with the fisheye into the evening until my battery died.  Some of the crew went out and caught some travalli during the day and later on Tim the chef cooked it up as our main course for dinner.  It was amazing, that was followed by his Mango lemon cheesecake.  My energy  has been greatly depleted and calorie intake becomes your first thought overtime the tin boat takes us back to our main boat.  So how do I write all these blog posts while at sea?  The Indies Trader 3 is one of only a few boats at sea in this region that boasts satellite internet.  Its an expensive option to have and it comes and goes a lot.  Thus takes a lot of tries to get the posts up.
